Reiterating the demand for re-introduction of the inner line permit system in Manipur, Dilipkumar wondered on why the 60 member Manipur legislative Assembly could not adopt a simple legislation to protect the indigenous people by checking unrestrained influx of outsiders.
IPSA advisor Ibotombi Khuman in his address regretted that the Government of Manipur could not live and act upto the expectation of the Manipuri masses.
He also advised Acoam-Lup to broaden its reach and activities in order to bring together different ethnic communities settled in Manipur.
While UCM president Y Nabachandra cited prolonged imposition of the draconian AFSPA for prevailing chaotic situation Manipur is besieged with and called for sustained movement for complete scrapping of the Act, chief guest of the anniversary celebration H Kula pledged that Acoam-Lup would strive to contribute its mite towards peace and development of Manipur.
Emphasising on mutual co-existence and growth of individual community, Kula also stated that campaign for effective implementation of inner line system should be the one of the main focuses of civil society organisations.
