Solar plants to power SDO/SDC offices

All the SDO and SDC offices of the State would be equipped with solar power plants of 1 KW capacity under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission being implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The project of installing solar power plants at SDO/SDC offices would be executed by the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA), informed an official source.
The SDO offices where solar power plants would be installed are Lamphel, Patsoi, Wangoi and Lamsang in Imphal West, ADC Jiribam, Keirao Bitra, Porompat, Sawombung in Imphal East district, Bishnupur, Moirang and Nambol in Bishnupur district, Thoubal, Kakching and Lilong in Thoubal district.

Chandel, Chakpikarong, Machi, Tengnoupal and ADC Moreh in Chandel district, Churachandpur, Henglep, ADC Pherzawl, Thanlon, Parbung and Singhat in Churachandpur district.
Tamenglong, Nungba, Tamei and Tousem in Tamenglong district, Tadubi, Paomata, Purul, ADC Kangpokpi, Saitu Gamphazol, Saikul, Willong, Phaibung Khullen, T Waichong, Champhai and Island in Senapati district.
Ukhrul, Chingai, Kamjong, Kasom Khullen, Phungyar and Jessami in Ukhrul district.
In view of the acute power shortage being endured by the State for years, solar power plants of 25 KW capacity have been already installed in all the DC offices of the nine districts.
MANIREDA has been entrusted the responsibility of installing 100 solar LED street lamps within each of the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the State.
