SDSA flays alleged attack

The Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has strongly condemned the alleged physical assault of three innocent Naga youths by some youths of another community suspected to be from Haipi village.
In a press release issued by its president LR John, SDSA alleged that police have also failed to address or book the involved persons till date.
The incident happened at Kalapahar bazaar on May 10, under Kangpokpi Police Station, the press release added.
It further said that a police team from the said police station arrived at the scene but did nothing to stop the ugly incident but allowed the intoxicated youths to seriously injure the trio.
Maintaining that the incident has seriously disturbed the students' community, SDSA questioned the duty and integrity of police department.
SDSA added that it would not remain as a weak spectator to such sensitive incidents but react accordingly for justice.
It also demanded the district administration and the police authority to seriously investigate into the matter immediately, failure of which, it would be compelled to react effectively.
In the incident, three youths including a church Chowkidar identified as M Olive (21) of Yaikongpao village, T Careson (23) and T Job (20) both from Makhrelui village, Senapati district headquarters were allegedly assaulted by some 20 to 30 youths in addition to robbing of a mobile phone, one silver chain and damaging one phone and a wrist watch.
The trio were treated for head injuries and body pains in a hospital.
