Rousing reception given to Ministers

Manipur State Co-operative Union (MSCU) organised a reception ceremony in the honour of Cooperation and Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, Commerce and Industries, Sericulture and Veterinary Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Works and Transport Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and Khangabok A/C MLA O Landhoni Devi at its premises today.
Speaking at the occasion, AK Mirabai observed that the union must share its thoughts with the common people before adopting any project or policy in order to uplift the society and bring development effectively.
She also directed the officials and staff of the union to avoid mismanagement and controversy at most.
Informing the gathering that the State has 5370 registered Societies, the Minister observed that these Societies must be called up together once and find out the state of its current functioning.
Maintaining that bringing change and fight against corruption are not in the hands of powerful people and Ministers, AK Mirabai pointed out that common people must also take responsibility in this regard.
She also stressed on the need to revive cooperative movement in India, especially in Manipur.
Kh Ratankumar while speaking at the function expressed concern that some unions seems lifeless.
Mentioning about the handloom and handicraft products of the State, he also called on to enhance cooperative movement in the State.
