Dimapur, December 14 (NEPS):
The collective leaderships of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN (IM)---Isak Chishi Swu and Th Muivah---have been given a brief but warm and impressive public reception at Nagaland's Dimapur Airport as soon as they touched down their soil at 12.42 hours here today after a gap of about three decades.
Thousands of Nagas and non-Nagas residing in and around Dimapur with placards and banners written---"Welcome Home, Isak Swu and Th Muivah"---have greeted the two great leaders who first arrived at Delhi on December 5 at the invitation of the Indian prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.
Isak and Muivah, who had already met Prime Minister Dr Singh, Home Minister Shivarj Patil, UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi, Opposition Leader LK Advani, former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and other political leaders during their stay in Delhi, would be spending little over a month in the NSCN (IM)'s Camp Hebron---some 40 kms away from here.
The two leaders will to have wider consultations with various sections of Naga people and also other concerned leaders to enable them to move the dialogue forward with the Government of India to reach to an honorable and lasting solution to the longstanding Naga political issue.
The two NSCN (IM) leaders filled with emotions and tears seeing the cheering and jubilated crowds had occasionally waved and nodded them.

Muivah also appealed to all to provide their views, opinions and suggestions to find out the solution to the Naga political issue.
"Your views and suggestions are most important at this moment," he said adding, "Your decision will be the decision to advocate for the solution".
Stating that they had visited India at the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, the NSCN (IM) General Secretary made it clear that solution had to be honorable but it should be "through peaceful means," because "violence couldn't bring any solution".
Earlier addressing the gathering, NSCN (IM) Chairman Isak Chishi Swu said they had come here to repeat the "clarion call" to all the Nagas to unite and work together for a final solution to the longstanding Naga political problem.
Stating that they had come here to "explain" to the Naga people how they had been negotiating with the Government of India to resolve the Naga issue, the NSCN (IM) Chairman disclosed that the Government of India was fully prepared to "settle the Naga issue".
Therefore, it was time for the Nagas to "consolidate as one people" for bringing final settlement to the problem, he pointed out.
He also stated that they would try to meet all the tribes during their stay in Camp Hebron.
Naga Council President, Horangse Sangtam and Naga Hoho President, M Vero also briefly addressed the reception function on behalf of the public.
They assured the two collective leaderships of the NSCN (IM) of their cooperation towards finding solution to the Naga problem.
