New Delhi, December 14:
Months after protests demanding repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act rocked Manipur, the chief of the State police today admitted "aberrations" in the human rights situation in the North-Eastern State.
"There are aberrations with regard to human rights in Manipur which were highlighted by Manorama Devi's killing," State Director General of Police AK Parashar told reporters on the sidelines of a conference of Chief Secretaries and DGPs when asked about the rights situation in the State.
Devi's alleged custodial killing by AR jawans in July had sparked widespread protests in Manipur demanding repeal of the AFSPA.
