Imphal, May 09 2009:
The proscribed UNLF has given a clarion call upon the people to analyse the riddle emanating from the arrest of Khwairakpam Megha (34) s/o late Kh Pishak of Naorem Leikai, Liwa Road by some commando personnel from Khagempalli on May 6 and the discrepant claim of Megha's arrest by 31 Assam Rifles from Moreh Town on Friday morning.
Recounting its experiences till date, the outfit in a statement issued by senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba opined that some Kuki scoundrels have been working closely with security forces and plotting to murder Meiteis.
A number of Meiteis have been murdered at Moreh, Saikul and Churachandpur, the outfit noted while alleging that these wicked Kukis have been still scheming to drive off Meiteis from Moreh.
In cahoot with Assam Rifles, these scoundrels have been instrumental in killing many Meiteis after making their settlement in the valley and Meitei Langol, the outfit alleged.
The victims of these wicked Kuki elements included innocent Naga and Kuki people too, it said.
Saying that these scoundrels may join State forces and start targeting many Manipuris covertly, the outfit asked the people to be cautious against AR and the Kuki scoundrels.
On its part, the UNLF would join hands with like minded Kuki organisations to exterminate the black sheep, it added.

Referring to the news report about identification of the individual shot dead by troops of 31 AR in a reported encounter at New Shijang village under Moreh police station, the UNLF clarified that the deceased, Oinam Kabichandra alias Chingthouba alias Muthi s/o O Nilachandra of Pishum Oinam Leikai was working in the MPA under BMT Batch 15 .
But after two years, he retired from the outfit due to certain physical problems.
He was a married man and had a daughter.
The release issued by senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba asserted that Kabichandra was pulled up from near his home.
The outfit also dismissed the claim of Assam Rifles that Kabichandra was killed in an encounter at New Shijang and that a gun was recovered from his possession as blatant lies.
Alleging that there have been several instances of killing people at Moreh after picking up the victims from Imphal, Yoiheiba recalled about the news report published on March 8 about 32 AR slaying a UG suspect and recovering one 9 mm pistol and four live rounds from the slain individual.
The slain individual Thangjam Iboyaima alias Paikhomba s/o Th Chandrasing of Nongpok Keithelmanbi was an ex-MPA.
But he had retired from the party a long time back and had been living a married life for the last ten years.
Although it was claimed that Iboyaima alias Paikhomba was killed in an encounter at Lokchao on Imphal-Moreh road, the outfit alleged that Iboyaima was pulled up from Wangkhei.
The outfit also disclosed its suspicion that Iboyaima might have been killed by AR personnel at the behest of one of his friend who were doing contract works together because of some financial matters.
