Dy CM raises NE Film City in State banner

BB Films Production's third motion picture Thabaton 2 was released today at Imphal Hotel by the Classic under the aegis of the Big brother's Film Company Private Limited, Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion, the event's chief guest Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam said not only the Government but the people of the State particularly film personalities must share due responsibilities in order to ensure that the Film City sanctioned for the North East region is established in Manipur.
As the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the State's athletes in the field of sports had managed to secure the establishment of Sports University in the State, likewise film personalities ought to show due dedication and hardwork in their trade to secure the establishment of Film City in the State, the Deputy CM added.
Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai presided over the event while, All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shyamjai and ISTV president Khamba Salam attended as the guests of honour respectively.
Speaking further, the Deputy Chief Minister said that in comparision Manipur releases the largest number of films every year in the whole of North East.
Despite the lack of new technology, the efforts of the directors, producers and most importantly the actors are laudatory.
The current spirit of film fraternities, if kept alive, would certainly secure Film City here in the State, Gaikhangam added.
The Minister encouraged actors to keep alive their performing spirits.
'A writer will write to educate the masses, but film has the capacity to change the whole social structure,' Gaikhangam added.
In continuation, Wankhemcha Shyamjai, guest of honour of the event appealed equal participation in the effort to secure the establishment of Film city in the State.
The team of Thabaton 2 was also presented with a memento each as part of the function.
