A twenty one year old mini-truck driver identified as Ashok Kumar Baneya Chetry was killed last night by unidentified gunmen while returning from Sugnu after delivering supply materials for the Army posted there.
According to information receiver here, Kumar's truck along with four other min-trucks was returning to Imphal when armed men try to stop them at Lailoiphai village, 25 km east of CCpur police station.
The first four truck did not heed to the instruction of the armed men and sped away, but the last truck which Kumar was driving receive the wrath of the armed men.
He was hit by a bullet on his back an immediately succumbs at the spot while his handy man manage to escape from the gory.
The dead body was picked up by the local police here at around 8:30 am and after conducting post-mortem he was handed over to the Nepali community here.
Kumar is said to be a resident of Motbung Nepali Basti.
