An awareness programme on child rights, under the aegis of Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti was held here at the Conference Hall of Churachandpur Government College, giving an edge on the need to initiate a Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
Attended by a good number of renown scholars, the campaign focuses on the need for protecting the well being of juvenile kids as well as the ways and means for doing the same.
The Speakers, including N Nongyai, member MHRC; A Purnimashi Devi, Vice President MMKS; LS Gangte, Vice Principal CCpur College and several other dignitaries stresses on the rights of every single child and the ways for protecting that right.
They also emphasis on the need of an amalgamate efforts among the various communities for defending that right.
Chosen particularly for the prevailing situation and the social trauma the populace of Churachandpur has encountered over the years, the awareness programme according to the speakers will pave a long way in realizing the creation of the much needed CWC and JJB to attend to the needs of a child in need and to look after their living conditions.
