The 11th Foundation Day of Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) was celebrated at the auditorium hall of Imphal Hotel, North AOC here today along with the presentation of "Tomthin Khudol" award to renowned Khongjom Parva artist Nameirakpam Ibeni.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Akoijam Janaki, President of MEEKHOL stated that the present generation has lost all manners and discipline and has come under the influence of outside forces.
As such, there is the need to do away with all the outside forces and try to build up integrity among us all.
She further stated that women have been described as the mirror of the society and so women of the State need to come together and bring a change in the society for the better.
It is because of the lack of discipline and manners we have come to hear of various unwanted incidents in the State.

And because of this, outsiders have come to look down upon the people.
All these unwanted incidences can be overcome only if the women of the society follow the customs and traditions of our ancestors, she maintained.
Delivering the Presidential speech, Mutum Churamani, President of HERICOUN, observed that the people of Manipur have gradually started getting away from Hindunisation.
Although changes cannot be brought overnight, the changing trend in Manipuri society today is a clear sign that nationalism among the minds of the people of the State have started to rise once again.
