The 41st local conference of CPI Kumbi local council was held today where former Minister N Mangi claimed that maximum efforts are being put in to form a third front Government both at the Centre and the State without Congress and BJP.
Speaking at the conference held at Kumbi Terakha Sangeet community hall, N Mangi who is also president of the All Manipur Loumi Marup made a scathing attack on the Congress Governments ruling at the Centre and Manipur saying that many Ministers are caught in the web of scams and corruption.
Efforts are on to establish a third front Government at the Centre after the forthcoming Lok Sabha election..
He also announced that CPI is working to put up CPI State secretary Dr M Nara in the Lok Sabha election in Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
He also sought support from the people of Kumbi AC for Dr Nara.
With people openly talking about steep price tags attached to almost all Government posts, many police personnel whose primary duty is to safeguard law were found involved in drug deals.
Alleging that the State Government is a Government of contractors, Mangi derided that no water can be supplied to paddy fields even as Khuga Dam has been already commissioned.
CPI executive member M Sakhi no culprits involved in crimes against women have been punished according to law.
Informing that a panel discussion programme is being organised on June 4 on crimes against women, Sakhi invited the gathering to the panel discussion programme.
A draft political resolution was tabled at the conference and a number of resolutions were adopted.
Establishment of a fast track court for dealing with crimes against women exclusively, repeal of AFSPA, increment of old age pension to Rs 3000 per month, formulating welfare policies for farmers, streamlining police department, and putting on hold the initiative to privatize hospitals and corporatize Electricity Department were some of the resolutions adopted at the conference.
CPI assistant secretary N L Thoiren and former secretary L Iboyaima also spoke at the conference.
