Lamka, May 16 2013:
Weeks after hate-leaflets targeting a particular community was circulated in the district, Minister in charge of Churachandpur Phungzathang Tonsing today announced that Rs 1 lakh will be given to anyone who can provide substantial information on who was behind the leaflets.
Tonsing made the announcement today alongside his counterparts and former Minister TN Haokip, Parliamentary Secretary V Valte, Singngat MLA GS Haopu and leaders of various CSOs from the district.
He said, the elected representatives of the district and the CSOs have a detail discussion on the issue today and decided that the leaflet be dubbed as a 'bogus leaflet' which does not merit to be identified as a quit notice.
'We will not spare this type of men who intends to spread hatred in the district,' he said adding, anyone responsible will be taken to task.
Despite announcing the 1lakh reward Tonsing said, the culprit(s) would however be forgiven if they surrender themselves before the police or any of the CSOs.
Otherwise he or they will be hunt down and will have to face the law to take its own course.
