The Khadi and Village Industries Board has begun availing various pending benefits to retired employees of the Board like gratuity, leave encashment, etc.
In line with this, a sum of Rs 56,066 was handed over today to Yumnam Inakhunba, who retired as peon in 2011 .
The amount was personally handed over to the retired employee at his residence located at Konjeng Leikai Kouna Thabi by officials of the Board led by its Vice-Chairman, Sagolsem Achouba today.
Vice-Chairman of the KVIB, S Achouba said that payment of pension benefits to retired employees of the Board has been pending due to fund crunch for some time.

The new members of the board have made concerted efforts to avail pension benefits to retired employees of the board, he said.
Taking the poor health condition of Y Inakhunba into consideration the amount was handed to him, Achouba said.
The vice-chairman said that other retired employees of the Board would also be availed of the pension benefits in a ceremony to honour them.
