Assam Rifles celebrates Rastriya Ekta Diwas

Units of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st Oct 2017 on the occasion of 142 birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated every year to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our nation.
26 Assam Rifles (Phundrei Battalion) celebrated the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at various Company Operating Bases and Battalion HQ.
Flag hoisting ceremonies, unity run and drawing competitions were conducted by the Battalion in the Thoubal, Yaripok, Chandrakhong and Upper Khoripok.
A large number of school students participated in the events.
45 Assam Rifles (Mantripukhri Battalion) celebrated the occasion at various Company Operating Bases, Battalion HQ and Assam Rifles Public School, Mantripukhri.
Run for Unity was organised by Sawombung Company Operating Base followed by oath taking ceremony at Battalion HQ and a lecture on importance of National Integration & Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's contribution in nation building.
6 Assam Rifles (Keithelmanbi Battalion) celebrated the occasion by conducting various events like lectures, drawing and painting competition with a theme of "Unity in Diversity" and run for unity at Andro, Lilong, Canchipur, Singjamei and Keithelmanbi.
Similarly, 5 JAKRIF (Tulihal Battalion) also organised various events on the "National Unity" theme in area of Patsoi, Nambol, Tulihal and Mayang Imphal.
Various events like painitng competitions, football match at Khuman School(Mayang Imphal), cultural program by the school children at Azad English School, Maitram and Pole Star Public School, Patsoi-III and Unity March were organised by the Battalion.
The unit also invited Ex Servicemen in the area of Patsoi and Mayang Imphal to be a part of the occasion.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was also celebrated in Ukhrul , Sangshak, Kamjong, Maram and Jwalamukhi with full zeal and enthusiasm by locals and Assam Rifles.
To commemorate the Ekta Diwas, the unity day run was organised at all unit locations where children, ladies and locals participated in large numbers.
Competitions like painting, slogan writing and essay writing were conducted with the theme of national unity.
Several motivational Talks were organised at unit level, schools and
at colleges.
