A team of Parliamentary Standing Committee on HRD, led by its Chairman Dr Satyanarayana Jatiya arrived today at Imphal on a three-day visit to assess the work taken up for Human Resource Development in the State under various Central projects and schemes and to discuss about its related matters .
The team consists of the Standing Committee's Chairman Dr Satyanarayana Jatiya (BJP), Vishambir Prasad Nishad (SP), Bijoy Chandra Barman (AITC), Gopal Narayan Singh (BJP), Dr Nepal Singh (BJP), Sh Faggan Singh Kulaste, (BJP), Sh Bhairon Prasad Mishra (BJP), PR Sundaram (AIADMK), Sh Satyapal Singh (BJP), Dr Bhagirath Prasad (BJP) and Professor Chintamani Malviya (BJP).
They are also joined by officials from the Secretariat of different Ministries, SAI and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Ltd.
A meeting was later held at Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre, SAI, NERC, Takyel, Imphal .
According to Lenminthang, Assistant Director, SAI, NERC, Takyel, Imphal, the meeting will discuss matters related with various Central projects which are being undertaken in the State for the development of sports .
He said various aspects of the projects meant for the development of sports, including their position/status and prospects will be minutely discussed with the team, State Government officials and various funding agencies incorporated.
Lenminthang continued that further aspects of funding for several projects and schemes might also be discussed at length during the meeting adding the team is also likely to visit the site for National Sports University .
On the other hand, a source informed that the team will also inspect the condition for various educational institutions like NIT and MU and hold meetings with officials related with the education department and the institutions during the three days long visit.
