14th National Master Aquatic C’ship ; Manipur secure 10 medals on first day

Master swimmers from Manipur have secured 10 medals on the first day of the 14th National Master Aquatic Championship 2017 held at Mysore, Karnataka .
The first day of the championship saw a clean start for Manipur with 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze) in the championship tally .
N Mina Leima opened the gold medal account for Manipur as she won the 50 m breaststroke in the 55-59 years women’s category.
The second gold medal was added by S Jayenta (30-39 years) in the same event.
S Mohendro bagged the third gold medal for Manipur in the 100 m freestyle event of men’s 65 to 69 years category taking 1min 31.45 secs .
A Manbi Devi (60-65 years women’s) bagged the first silver medal in the 50 m breaststroke event .
H Gojen bagged one silver medal in the men’s 50-54 years category.
He took 43.39 seconds to finish second in the 50 m breaststroke event .
In the 65-69 years category, Ksh Mangi Singh finished second to bag silver medal in the 50 m breaststroke event.
L Gojen won the fourth silver medal of the day in the men’s 30-39 years 100 m freestyle event.
E Elizabeth (35-39 years category) won the first bronze medal in the 100 m freestyle event, while Kh Sandhyarani (55-59 years category) and Soraisam (50-54 years category) Ebetombi bagged the two bronze medals in the 50 m breaststroke event.
