Chandel DHQs gets first ATM booth

MLA of 41-Chandel A/C St Nunghlung Victor Anal inaugurated the 1st Automated Teller Machine (ATM) installed at the district head quarter town of Chandel by State Bank of India (SBI), Chandel branch today.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the function, MLA Nunghlung Victor Anal recalled the days when people of Chandel have to face lot of inconvenience while waiting for their turn to transact money in the bank in long queue and hoped that the problem would be solved to a large extent now that an ATM booth has been opened for the first time in Chandel district headquarters.

Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Th Chitaranjan Singh, I.A.S, who attended the function as Guest of Honour thanked the SBI Chandel Branch Manager for the initiatives of establishing the ATM booth and observed that this would be a solution to the problem of overcrowding at the bank at the time of salary disbursement.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that a proposal has been made to open one more ATM at the Mini Secretariat for public convenience.
SBI Chandel Branch Manager N Kangba in his speech pointed out that owing to frequent bandh/blockade in different parts of the state, and a conflict between the SBI and the implementing agency, inauguration of the SBI ATM could not happen as expected before the end of the previous financial year.
He expressed hope that the ATM that has come with much effort of the district administration and the 41/AC Chandel will go a long way in mitigating the problem of financial transanction faced by the public.
Highlighting various packages of financial services offer by SBI, Kangba also urged the people to be aware of these services and avail them.
Commandant of 8 Manipur Rifles TK Anal was also present on the dias of the function, which was attended by many special invitees including Civil Society leaders, general public and customers of the Bank.
