Imphal, May17 2009:
Continuing to protest against the non reservation of seats for minority Muslims in the recruitment of some posts of JNIMS, the Pangal Students' Organization Manipuir (PSO) had organized a protest meeting at its head office today at 1 pm.
The President of PSO presided over the meeting while the Presidents of TIPS, MSF, AMMPWA and UMMWA took part at the meeting as presidium members.
A release of PSO stated that representatives of various civil organizations of the state as well as scholar and intellectual persons belonging to minority Muslims took part at the meeting.
The meeting resolved to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister again.
The resource persons present in the meeting stating it as a very sentimental issue condemned the government's policy of not keeping a single seat reserved for the minority Muslims.
PSO has also called for a joint meeting for all Manipuri Muslims to discuss on the issue on May 24 .
