Imphal, May17 2009:
The JAC against the brutal killing of Dr Th Kishan, A Rajen and Y Token and the people of Manipur declared that the verdict of the so called court martial of the NSCN-IM is not at all acceptable.
It is important to note that even the Indian military court does not have the jurisdiction to put on trial its personnel for murder of any civilian.
The Government of Manipur should immediately take action to apprehend the murderers of Dr Th Kishan, A Rajen and Y Token and the culprits should be put on trial under sections of IPC.
The movement demanding justice will go on till the murderers are punished by the Law of the Land.
At the same time initiatives from the hill based social voluntary organizations in joining the movement are welcome.
The proceedings of the Commission of Inquiry initiated by the Government of Manipur following the murder of the three government employees should be immediately made public.
And, that all officials functionaries of the state government who are involved in the gruesome murder should be immediately booked and criminal proceedings initiated against them.
