Former deputy Speaker, MLA Th Shyamkumar who has been in the Tihar Jail, New Delhi in connection with a case pending with him came back to Imphal today with the permission of the court where trial to his case going on.
On his arrival at the Imphal Tulihal Airport, Shyamkumar received a rousing welcome from his supporters from Andro Assembly constituency.
Later he held interaction with his supporters at his official quarter in Imphal.
A case was registered against by the Delhi police after he was arrested by the police there from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in October 2006 along with two members of the proscribed UNLF while trying to fly to Kathmandu.
Speaking to media persons here in his official quarter, Th Shyamkumar said, he is back in Imphal with the permission of the court.
He will leave tomorrow again to appear in the hearing on January 11.On that day statement of three witnesses will be taken by the court.
He will be back on January 12 to attend the Assembly session due to begin from January 13, Shyamkumar said.
Speaking in connection with the undergoing trial against him, he expressed confident of judgment to the case within the next two to three months.
Till the justice is delivered, he will be in the jail.
He will never stand against the judgment of the court.
Even though he is in jail, the Andro Kendra Development Committee is looking after the developmental works in his constituency.
So, he did not feel distressed while in jail, Shyamkumar added.
He went on to say that even inside the jail, he gets the respect of being a representative of the people.
