The Joint Administration Council (JAC) of the All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt.Employees Organisation (AMGEO) has decided to go ahead with the cease work strike from January 16.This was decided at the Executive Council Meeting of the two JAC which was held today.
The decision was arrived at after due deliberation of the government's stand the long standing demand of the two JACs according to a press release issued by the secretary, Publicity and information of the JACs of AMTUC and AMGEO.
In keeping with this decision, the executive council has informed all the govt employees and workers in the entire department to cease work from January 16.The body also appealed to those in essential services to join in the strike.
The press note appealed to all the government employees to stand united so as to achieve the long standing demand of enforcing the 6th pay commission in toto in the state.
It asked all the employees and workers to report for work in their respective departments and office and sign in the attendance register on time.
The press release also appealed to all the employees and workers to take note of various decisions which the two JACs will be taking from time to time in course of the strike and to stand by those for the fulfillment of the demands.
