AR organise training programme on banana and king chilli plantation

19 Assam Rifles , under the aegis of Headquarter IGAR (South) is located at Sehlon, Chandel district, Manipur.
The region which is blessed with a plethora of natural resources is an ideal for cultivation of commercial agricultural products.
To exploit this unventured thread of livelihood for the local populace, Sehlon Batallion of Assam Rifles organised a one day workshop on cultivation of banana and king chilli in collaboration with Agricultural training and Management (ATMA), Imphal onMay 27, at Tuitong village.
The aim of the workshop was to impart knowledge to the villagers about cultivation ofbanana and king chilli (u morok) which have high commercial values in open markets of the valley region.
The workshop was attended by villagers of Tuitong, Gamnom, Kovang, Wayang, Gelmol and Moljol.
Various techniques and procedures of harvesting as well as marketing their products were explained to villagers.
Attendees took keen interest in the lecture cum demonstration given by the members of ATMA, Imphal and clarified various doubts regarding harvesting span and usage of pesticides etc.
At the end of the lecture villagers were hosted with quick lunch and refreshments.
Dy Comdt 19 Assam Rifles felicitated K Manikhamba, Block Technology Manager of ATMA, Imphal for their selfless guidance and participation in a noble cause.
