ZSUM praises Zeliang, condemns assault on its Delhi President

Extending heartiest congratulations to T.R Zeliang on his becoming the first Chief Minister of Nagaland from Zeliangrong community, Zeliangrong Student's Union, Manipur (ZSUM) has thanked former Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the other Nagaland legislators for having consent and repose trust on the leadership of T.R Zeliang.
"We also wish Rio, the Lok Sabha MP a bright political career at the national level," the student body has wished, and expressing hope that under the able leadership of T.R Zeliang, many issues confronting the society will be solved and a new era of oneness, unity and trust among the family prevails.
Further, Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur has condemned in strongest terms the physical assault and molestation of Rachubui Pame, president of Zeliangrong Students' Union, Delhi and his colleagues at Tis Hazari Court, Delhi on May 23 by some local lawyers.
The attack is an act of racial crime on the North-East people, so the attackers should be booked under relevant law and appropriate action taken at the earliest, the student body said.
It has also condemned another act of molestation of a Northeast girl who is a Delhi University student allegedly by an outsider on May 23.Urging the Chief Ministers and MPs of all the North-Eastern states to collectively voice for the cause of the NE people, keeping aside their political affiliations, the students' body has also reminded the north-easterners that Delhi has earned the name 'rape city', 'most unsafe place' and 'most polluted city' in the world.
