PWD notifies on removal of construction material

Imphal, October 28 2015: Public Works Department (PWD) on Wednesday notified that all residents along National Highway (NH)-150 from Keishampat to Malom (especially from Keishampat to Kwakeithel Tiddim ground) should remove stacked construction materials, parked vehicles and debris dumped on both sides of road by November 1 to ease the ongoing construction work.

PWD National Highway Division No.III executive engineer in a notification informed shop owners who are residing or doing business along NH-150 on both sides of road from Keishampat to Malom that the construction of drains on both sides is in completion stage.

Casting of RCC slab cover is almost over while levelling, covering of man-hole is in progress and construction of road is at the finishing level of applying sand gravel, said the notification.

PWD said that work is in full swing and has to be completed before the Sangai Festival scheduled for November 21 onwards till November 30, 2015. In view of the above, stacking of construction materials like earth, sand, stone, steel, bricks etc.

dumping of debris on roadways as well as on foot-path, hoarding of materials by shopkeepers, temporary sheds, vehicles for repairing, keeping flower pots etc., have caused inconvenience in the construction of road works as well as traffic users, said PWD.

PWD requested all the to remove the materials mentioned above from the road section of NH-150 from Keishampat to Malom within 3 (three) days (till November 1, 2015) failing which the same department will report to the Home Department for the task and PWD will not be held responsible for the damages caused.
