No let up in stir against Kadangband killings 20 days eco-blockade from Nov 3

The Joint Action Committee Against The Killing of Khupneilal Neihsiel and Robert Hesei Kipgen has called a 20 day economic blockade from midnight of November 3 .
The JAC against the Kadangband killings had earlier imposed a 48 hr total bandh in all hill districts of the State from October 18 midnight to show discontentment and dissatisfaction over the delay in furnishing the Magisterial probe report pertaining to the killings by the Government within the stipulated three months time.
JAC Convener Thangminlen Haokip said that the JAC decision to impose the 20 day economic blockade came after a joint meeting with various Kuki CSOs today while adding "we are extremely disappointed with the stubbornness of the State Government even after the 48 hr total bandh" .
The 20 day economic blockade scheduled to begin from midnight of November 3 will be effective in all highways of the State, he added.
He also said that the JAC will launch a mobilization drive in all the hill districts of the State to ensure that the economic blockade results in the accomplishment of the JAC demands.
Thangminlen further said that if the Government fails to come up with an acceptable formula within November 3, the JAC will no longer give any room for further delays even in the event of the State Government making excuses of technical difficulties.
The JAC has appealed to all the people of the State to understand its stand and to extend support in its movement in view of the fact that many, irrespective of tribe and community, have been victimised by the repeated human rights violation by the Assam Rifles personnel.
The JAC also appealed to all State and inter-State transporters' associations to respect the bandh and abstain from any act of defiance.
It also urged every civil society organizations particularly in the hill districts of Manipur to team up with the JAC and extend support during the economic blockade.
