Imphal, February 22 2022:
Retired IAS officer Ram Muivah, who is the NPF candidate for the seat of Ukhrul assembly constituency, has said that BJP and NPF will form the next government in the state.
Addressing a political conference held at Sinakeithei under Ukhrul assembly constituency on Tuesday, Ram Muivah said that NPF is a partner of NDA at the Centre and as such NPF will support BJP in forming the next government in the state.
He also said that peace prevails in the hill districts due to the alliance of NPF and BJP.
The party will always crijpose BJP as its partner since politics is a game of power and it is a partner of NDA, he said.
He further said that the state government can get loan from Japan International Cooperative Agency, Asian Bank and World Bank since Manipur is a special category state.
For repayment of such loans, economic affairs ministry shall bear 90 per cent of the amount while the state government will repay the remaining 10 per cent up to a period of 30 years, which is extendable up to 10 years if the state government cannot repay it in time, he explained.
Japan International Cooperative Agency has been taking up several developmental projects in the mainland India and officials of the agency often ask the state government to submit proposal for such projects as there is an emotional relationship between Manipur and Japan which dated back to the 2nd World War.
The state government can improve its road connectivity and other infrastructure by getting such loans and it needs a good government to take up such projects, said the candidate.
He also stressed the need for diverting focus on human resource development instead of focusing on natural resources.
African countries have rich natural resources but they are also one of the poorest in the world.
On the other hand, Japan has least natural resources but it is one of the most developed countries due to its rich human resources, he added.
Ram Muivah also spoke on the importance of women empowerment and empowering youth, who constitute 60 per cent of the total population of the state, in order to bring peace, development and stability.
Chiefs of eight villages in the surrounding of Sinakeithei and several NPF leaders attended the political conference.
