Martyrs 'pumbuk' inaugurated

The reconstructed Martyrs Pumbuk (memorial site) was inaugurated today at 6 pm by Hmar Inpui president Joseph Lalrothang with a solemn function held at the shed.
A few hundred of people along with tribe leaders and JACAATB functionaries graced the ceremony that was address by community leaders.
Candle lighting and tribal hymns were sung at the function.
The Salpha (Martyrs) Pumbuk is believed to have been set ablaze by unidentified persons sometime last month.
The JACAATB with contribution from the public reconstructed it but it's initial formal inauguration was delayed reportedly as the JACAATB leaders had gone to New Delhi for talks.
The JACAATB has in a statement said the fallen Salpha Pumbuk has been rebuilt with donations and contributions from the public, and is now ready � all set to continue the fight for tribal self-determination and separate adminstration.
