Kangpokpi, August 07 2014:
All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) today lodged complained against the recent notification regarding recruitment of teachers for Jiribam Sub Division stating that the recruitment was done without any reservation policy.
General Secretary of the apex tribal students' body Marahang Ngiimai asserted that if the Government wants to recruit teachers, it must followed the reservation policy and said that selective selection must be followed in all district if the Government really wants to go with it.
When ATSUM is demanding for a separate Hill University, the Government is planning to convert DM College into a Central University which truly is an affront to the tribal community, Marahang Ngiimai also said.
The ATSUM General Secretary also pointed out with enforcement of 144 CrPC in state capital and Ukhrul district, there has been lot of disturbances for the general public.
But in Imphal area, torch rally and other activities go unaffected whereas in Ukhrul there is a strict order against such activities.
Meanwhile, ATSUM has called a discussion meeting on August 11 at Kuki Inn, Imphal at 11 am on the issue of Reservation in Central University and asked all ATSUM representatives, senior leaders and experts to join the meeting.
