Dr Nabakishore offers Rs 30 lac to settle Eliza's death case: Hubby

Wahengbam Dinachandra, husband of late W Eliza who died few days after giving birth to a child has alleged that Dr Nabakishore, who operated the patient offered him a sum of Rs 30 lakhs as settlement price which he turned down.
This was disclosed during a public meeting organized jointly by the JAC Against the Unnatural Death of Wahengbam Eliza; Women Development & Cultural Foundation; Chingmi-Tammi Apunba Lup and Meeyamgi Oiba Punsinba Lup at Singjamei Parking Community Hall in Imphal West district here today.
Dinachandra said that as the life of a human being is priceless, he will not accept any monetary offer for the death of his wife from the be negligence of the doctor.
"Several death cases due to negligence of doctors in the past may have solved by offering huge amount of money to families of the deceased but I will not fall prey to such trap", he vowed.
Stating that he is just seeking justice and not any kind of offer or settlement through money, the aggrieved husband lamented that he has been compelled to hide himself fearing consequences if he did not accept the money offered by the accused doctor.
He then appealed to the concerned authority to deliver justice to the case within ten days.
The meeting was also attended by Somerendro, president of ACOAM Lup; Sobita, president of WAD; Sumati, president of Guardian's Association and Rushikanta, public relation secretary of PANDAM as Presidium Members.
