Residents of Tamei area of Tamenglong district have complaint over the prolonged absence of Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Tamei while urging the concerned authority to redress their grievances.
In a statement, president of Tamenglong Public Forum (TPF), NK Hubibou charged that the people of Tamei area are yet to see the Tamei SDO, Rajendro, face to face since his appointment as the SDO in the early part of this year. The absence of the SDO in his office is causing inconvenience to people of the area who want to obtain income, tribe, and domicile certificates.
The absence of the SDO has coupled the trouble of Tamei residents during lean season as the area is prone to various diseases like malaria, diarrhea, etc.
On the basis of the report that the SDO is running liaison office at the residence of the local MLA, the statement asked whether the SDO is the PA or OSD to the local MLA.
Further, the statement pointed out that condition of the roads in the area is pathetic during monsoon.
It lamented that the EE of PWD Tamenglong doesn't come to look into the problem of the roads.
Demanding punishment to the absentee officers, the statement demanded that efficient officers be posted in their place to look after the grievances of the deprived people of the district at the earliest time.
The forum statement further warned to launch serious agitation in collaboration with other civil organisations of the state.
