In continuation of its protest against the July 23 Khwairamband Bazar incident of police firing that left two persons killed and five others injured, Manipur People's Party organised Wakat Meepham and public dialogue at Bishnupur Bazar today.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the protest demonstration, MPP president Dr Nimaichand Luwang expressed optimism over the Judicial Inquiry to be conducted into the July 23 Khwairamband Bazar incident and said that it would do justice.
However, he demanded that the FIR case being taken up by the City Police over the same incident should be handed over to the CBI at once.
Dr Nimaichand said that as the president of MPP he had written to AICC president for removing Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh from his post taking into account the prevailing unsettling situation in the State.
There is strong belief that Ibobi would be surely removed, he added.
Decrying the ban imposed on use of loud speaker at the public dialogue today, Dr Nimaichand asserted that it amounted to curtailing the rights to expression of the people.

On the other hand, the protest demonstration organised by BJP State unit at Moirang Jeep Parking in condemnation of the Khwairamband Bazar incident had been dispersed by the police.
Denouncing the police action, party leaders have termed its violation of the rights of the people by the Government.
