Lamka, August 31 2009:
The Manipur Tribals Council after its initial ultimatum of fifteen days for fixing the date of ADC polls in the hill districts, following the recommendation of the HAC on August 4, now looks forward to New Delhi to intervene to realize their demand for ADC polls.
A statement of the Tribal Council Saturday said it the HAC had already recommended early polls for ADC to the State Government as per the new constituency delimitation but to their utter surprise, it was not acceded till date.
The State Government has withhold the ADC/MDC poll for more than 20 years thereby ignoring the privileges of the tribals of the State and against the Constitution of the country; it added and declared their intention to appraise the serious matter of constitutional breach to the Union Government before mid September.
