As a part of the Van Mahaotsav celebrations throughout the country, the Rotarians of Imphal launched an afforestation drive at Koirengei and Langol areas.
The Rotarians planted saplings at the surrounding areas of Maria Montessori School on August 18, and at around Shija Hospitals on August 30 .
Dr Chourjit, Dr Dhabali and Dr Palin were joined by enthusiast Rotarians in the drive which covered around 1 km from Lamphel to Langol.
Nearly 850 saplings of native trees like amla, pine, jackfruit and yongchak, provided by Forest and Horticulture departments were planted during the drive.
Rotary Club of Imphal has planted 23, 600 saplings at various localities so far under Rotary International's campaign Save Planet Mother Earth.
