JCILPS continues verification drive

Imphal, November 29 2021:
Continuing its campaign to identify non-Manipuri who do not possess valid ILP cards, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) along with local clubs conducted verification drive of tenants in rented quarters on Monday.
After JCILPS cautioned of restricting rent owners who failed to make their non-Manipuri tenant have valid ILPS pass within December 5, JCILPS along with Mantripukhri Youth Development Committee and Development Committee Khunou Leikai Mantripukhri called out non-Manipuris and verified them.
In all, 220 non-Manipuris were verified of which 195 did not possessed ILPS pass and some of them with expired ones.
They were handed over to Heingang police station for further necessary actions.
JCILPS co-convenor publicity in-charge Wareppa Second opined that the demography of Mantripukhri has transformed drastically that it no longer appears to be in Manipur.
It is known through the drive that Mantripukhri is overwhelmed by outsiders.
While urging the government to sincerely do the needful without further delay, he also urged the indigenes not to be choosy in work and to inculcate working habit to enhance economy of the state.
Non-Manipuris will not reside in the state if the people of the land start working, he observed and exhorted the people to contribute their mite for the welfare of future generation.
