Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) appeals for restraint

The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has urged all revolutionary groups operating in Tamenglong district to maintain restrain so as to avert violence and hostility among the groups based in the district.
In a statement, Chairman of ZSUM, D Stephen Zeme said the people of Tamenglong district and the Nagas living in different part of the country are alarmed by the communal tone from some of the rival factions declaring to launch operation against non-Zeliangrong intruders.
Appealing the UG groups to apply wisdom and utmost conscience of tolerance to one another so that peace may return to embalm fear psychosis in the Zeliangrong region in particular and Nagas country in general.
It also condoled the death of several people and their bereaved families in the factional clash.
Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong students' body also condemned the physical assault of one Pouchun Gonmei of Ramgailong by some unidentified youths at Marana Bazar a week back while appealing all concerned not to cause the occurrence of such incidents in future.
