'Human resource, key to development'

In every sphere of human society, human resource development is the key to bring about upliftment and people should cooperate among themselves to usher in major development in education sector, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Lokeshwar stated today.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 2nd Late Okram Lukhoi and Saratlata Meritorious Award-2012 distribution function to the students of Wangkhei Assembly who passed their class X and XII examinations in position and first divisions.
The function was organised by Wangkhei Kendra Development Forum at Wangkhei.
Lokeshwar observed that even though cash incentive amount may be little, encouraging meritorious students of the state who excel in various exams is a good step towards development of education sector.
The present trend of awarding cash incentives to meritorious students started some years back, but it is praiseworthy for local clubs and organisations to organise such events.

While human resource development is the key to advancement in the society, people of the different communities living in the state should cooperate with each other and chalk out various strategies to develop education sector in the state.
On the other hand, parents should also stay aware of the changing trend of education system in the state.
They should look monitor their children's study and at the same time students should know the importance of education and obey their parents to excel in their academic career, the Speaker pointed out.
He pointed out that various student bodies and organisations have been shouting for quality education and a sound human resource development.
But people should also help them and join hands in bringing out the best from the education system in the state and make the system a better one.
There are many other sectors which are dependent on development in education sector though they may not be directly related.
RD&PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa expressed his gratitude to the organisers for felicitating and encouraging meritorious students of the constituency.
However, he noted that it was not the only way to encourage them and develop education sector in the state.
They should be moulded to become perfect pillars of the society.
In order to achieve development in different sectors, Manipur needs good leaders and peaceful coexistence among different communities.
People of the state should not let Delhi or other states to interfere in bringing solutions to any dispute or problem.
Instead, people of the state should bring solutions to such situations by themselves, he said.
Education and CAF & PD Minister Moirangthem Okendro, MLA Nemcha Kipgen, MLA Janghemlung Panmei and Director Education (S) W Rajen were also present on the dais during the function.
In all, 454 students of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency who passed the class X and XII examinations in first Division were awarded cash incentives on the occasion.
Besides them, Moirangthem Senorita who stood 9th position in Class XII examination and RK Surchand who stood 20th position in Class X examinations were awarded cash incentives of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively with one memento each.
The cash incentive was sponsored by Okram families.
