Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 4f.0, a vaccination programme to be carried out in three phases, was launched on Monday by Directorate of family Welfare Services and State Health Society (NHM) along with organising a media sensitisation programme on the IMI 4.C programme at Directorate's conference Hall, BT Read here.
Speaking at the function as chief guest, NHM state mission director Dr N Shyamjai pointed out that routine immunisation of children up to 2 years of age and pregnant women was interrupted due to Covid-19 pandemic.
As the vaccination programme is essential to protect the citizens from several diseases, the first phase weeklong IMI 4.0 has been launched to facilitate routine vaccination of children and pregnant women covered due to the pandemic, he said.
Dr N Shyamjai appealed to parents of children who missed their routine vaccination to get vaccinated during the prograrnme.
Meanwhile, speaking as guest of honour state immu nisation officer Dr T Manihar informed that IMI 4.0 will be conducted in 15 districts of the state except Senapati district.
In the first phase, vaccination will continue for one week without any break followed by the second phase from April 4 and third from May 2.Effort will be made to ensure that the state's immunisation target is achieved during the programme, he mentioned.
Dr T Manihar continued that booths for the vaccination drive will be opened at convenient places.
On the other hand, polio programme which was postponed due to Covid-19 and state election will be held from March 24 to 26.Every child till the age of five will be given polio drops on the first day, while on second and third day, children who missed the first will be given the drops by visiting their houses, he added.
The programme was also attended by Family Welfare additional director Dr N Dihe Mao as president.
