Seminar on climate change begins

Imphal, February 22 2013:
A two-day State Level Seminar on "Traditional System in the Action Plan on Climate Change" being organized under the joint aegis of Oriental College Imphal and NG College Imphal commenced from today at the Multipurpose Hall of Oriental College here.
The inaugural function of the UGC-sponsored seminar was attended by Dr RK Ranjan, Director of College Development Council, Manipur University; Dr Thoudam Biren, Principal of Oriental College and Ashok RC, Vice Principal of NG College as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr RK Ranjan stated the topic of the seminar is a very important issue to be discussed at this point of time.
Around 20 years back, some of the developed and developing countries of the world termed the climate change as 'Climate Politics'.
However, their belief has turned out to be wrong and now it has been referred as 'Global Warming' .
He maintained that a number of multi-national corporate bodies today are extracting the natural resources of the Earth to earn profit and this is one of the most important reasons for the cause of climate change.
As such, even the Government of India is coming up with various action plans to save the earth.
