Over 1000 schools surveyed

With a view to assess knowledge levels of students reading in classes III, V and VII, National Achievement Survey (NAS) was carried out at over 1000 schools in the State today as done in other States of the country.
Two field investigators each were sent to around 1000 selected Government and Government aided schools for the survey.
The survey was done through printed questionnaires covering three disciplines namely; Language, Environmental Science and Mathematics.
The survey is aimed at enabling NCERT assess knowledge levels of students and check whether students know what they must according to their educational level.
The survey result would be used in formulating syllabi and curricula for schools students, informed a source.
Altogether 2304 field investigators and 73 observers were deployed for the survey.
Materials used in the survey should be submitted to DIET Principals of concerned districts, added the source.
