Interpersonal communication campaign

With the stated objective of taking the public into confidence on the developmental schemes being implemented by the government, District Information Office (DIO), Thoubal organized a day-long 'Interpersonal communication campaign' at the hall of Integrated Rural Development and Educational Organisation (IRDEO), Wangbal today.
The inaugural function of the campaign was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal K Radhakumar as Chief Guest, Joint Director of Information and Public Relations A Balkrishna Sharma as President and retired DIO Ch Ibungobi and Secretary of IRDEO Kh Kumar as Guests of Honour.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the function attended by representatives of clubs, organizations and officials of various departments under Thoubal district, pointed out that public have not been able to utilize the benefits of the developmental schemes initiated by the people mainly due to lack of awareness on these development schemes.
In his Presidential address, Balkrishna observed that DIPR has been trying its level best to sensitize the public on the developmental activities taken up by the government through various medium including print and electronic media.
However, sensitization through print and electronic media normally has less scope for understanding the reaction of the public.
So, DIPR has been conducting similar Interpersonal Communication campaign over the last 4/5 years to facilitate direct interaction between the public and the government officials concerned.
In the technical session, General Manager of DIC Thoubal S Thoiba, Executive Engineer of PHED Thoubal MA Samad and Journalist L Ashokumar spoke on different topics as resource persons.
It was followed by a lively interactive session between the participants and the resource persons.
The interactive session was moderated by retired DIO Ch Ibungobi.
