Teachers demand on appointment orders and place of postings

Imphal, December 06 2011:
Primary Teachers, Hindi Primary Teachers and Hindi Graduate Teachers whose services were regularised recently took out a protest rally up to the office of Education (S) today demanding their appointment orders and place of postings.
The rally started from near Imphal West DC office complex and marched up to the office of Education (S) .
Later, some representatives of the protesters held a meeting with the Education (S) Director.
Altogether 1423 Primary teachers, 49 Graduate teachers and 203 Hindi Primary teachers were regularised in accordance to a notification issued by the State Government on September 4 this year.
However, these teachers have not been given their appointment orders till date, said one Seilash Ningthoujam.
They chanted slogans like "Don't politicise education", "Save primary teachers", "Don't victimise innocent DPC successful candidates" etc.
Seilash conveyed that the Education (S) Director assured to give their appointment orders by December 8 .
In case appointment orders are not issued by December 8, intense forms of agitation would be launched, he added.
