Tension between NSCN (IM) and ZUF ; KAPF rallies against internecine killings

Khoupum Area Peace Forum (KAPF) has organised a peace rally and public meeting at Khoupum area on December 2 in regards to the decision and resolutions adopted in the consultative meeting held on November 30 at Gahtao Solidarity Hall, informed a release issued by the forum.
It is maintained that the peace rally was organised to protest against the internecine killings among NSCN (IM) and ZUF cadres in the village areas by putting human security and property in stake.
The protest also mean to condemned the violation of meeting resolution took on November 12 at Gaidimjang which notified prohibition of uniformed and armed outfits to hold overnight in the villages.
Participated by various villagers of the area including village authority council, vice chairman, secretary, students, women society, youths, church members, intellectuals, Govt officials and civil society organisations, the rally was started from Gaidimjang via Satudai, Taodaijang road junction, Khoupum Bazar, Khoupum dam, Duithangjang and converged at Thanagong football ground with a public gathering.
The release also mentioned significant resolutions taken during the public gathering.
The resolutions reflected that the public of Khoupum called the Zeliangrong Frontal Organization and Nagas' civil organisations and apex body such as Hoho, UNC, Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN), Zeliangrong Union (AMN), Zeliangrong youth front (AMN), All Zeliangrong student's union (AMN), forum for Naga reconciliation (FNR), intellectuals for their immediate intervention in this armed conflict between the two outfits with an amicable solution based on peace.
The people's also appealed NSCN (IM) and ZUF to sort out their differences through peaceful means of dialogues and negotiations to maintain status quo with respect to ongoing peace process.
The resolutions further mentioned that people will initiate democratic agitation for maintaining peace and harmony if any organisation disregard and acted in contrary against the will of the villagers.
Around 6 hundred peoples have attended the rally and public gathering, added the release.
