Murder accused remanded in judicial custody

Imphal, July 11 2011:
Aribam Naobi Sharma from Kongba Uchekon Khunou who was held for killing Asem Sunil from Langdum has been remanded into judicial custody for 15 days after he was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate First Class Imphal East at the Uripok Cheirap Court today.
Sunil was allegedly killed in an accident on June 15 in which he hit a woman at Kongba Uchekon Khunou area on his way home from the court office where he work as a peon.
Locals of Langdum and Keirao demanded proper investigation in the matter alleging that Sunil succumbed to his injury since the local people of Kongba Uchekon Khunou area did not attended him after the accident.
They instead of rushing the both injured person, left him and took the woman to hospital.
Meanwhile, Aribam Naobi husband of the woman injured in the accident was arrested by Irilbung Police after locals of Langdum and Keirao areas thronged Irilbung PS demanding immediate arrest of the accuse person and complaint lodged by the family members of Sunil.
Accused Naobi admitted that he killed Sunil by hitting him with a stone out of rage when he saw his wife lying injured after the accident.
Police also recovered the stone used in killing Sunil and produced it in the court today.
The Judge denied a bail plea made by the accuse counsel on behalf of the accused person Naobi and remanded ion judicial custody for 15 days.
