AR extends assistance

Imphal, December 09 2013:
35 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed solar street lights to Tuitam Khongkhai village of Churachandpur district under 'Op Sadbhavana' yesterday.
The village which is located in a remote area is devoid of electricity.
This project will facilitate the electrification of streets in the village and give the village a secure environment during the night.
The solar street lights were handed over to the village chief, Tuitam Khongkhai in the presence of local populace.
In another endeavour, 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Veterinary Camp at Kakching village of Imphal East district under 'OP SADBHAVANA' today.
The aim of the camp was to provide treatment to animals of the locals in remote areas.
A team of veterinary doctors from 3 Army Dog Unit and 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital carried out checkup/treatment of around 250 animals.
The locals were also educated by experts on basic ailments, their treatments and taking proper care of animals.
Assam Rifles assured the people of its commitment to strive for the welfare of the society, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
