3 pc reservation for disables

Different district level disable's organisations have urged the Government not to recruit normal persons against 3 percent reservation of physically challenged persons in the office of ADCs.
Speaking on behalf of these bodies at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, All Disabled Union of Sadar Hills President Mangkholun Khongsai said, the Supreme Court decreed to reserve 3 percent of the total seats for disables in the recruitment of different posts in ADCs on October 9 .
As the State Government failed to execute the same in Manipur despite SC's decree, the matter was again complained to the High Court by the district level disable's bodies.
3 percent reservation for disabled candidates in the recruitment of different posts in the office of ADCs was finally put into effect following a directive from the High Court, he added.
He also warned that no normal candidate must be appointed against the quota of physically challenged persons.
Saying that a body christened, All Disabled Union of Hill Districts have been formed, Mangkholun Khongsai said that the union would be officially launched on December 13 .
He also said that All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur (ATDUM) and its leader Momo Tangtanga are not recognised by the district disable's bodies.
