Imphal, February 04 2014:
In response to the call of North East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS), thousands of students from North East belonging to various communities came out to stand united against racism in Delhi and staged a candle light vigil cum protest meeting at DU Metro Station today.
The candle light vigil cum protest meeting was held in the backdrop of the recent death of Nido Tania, a 19-year old student from Arunachal Pradesh, following a fatal attack by some shopkeepers at Lajpat Nagar Bazar in South Delhi.
The candle light vigil light march covered various localities like Vijay Nagar and Patel Chest near Delhi University's North Campus before they converged at DU Metro Station where the protest meeting was followed.
