Father-son kill one, mob dismantle house

In a gruesome incident, a father son duo allegedly stabbed a 31-year-old man to death at Uripok Yambem Leikai last night.
The deceased has been identified as Angom Birendrajit alias Ibomcha (31) s/o Basantakumar alias Bodey of Uripok Yambem Leikai.
According to locals, they heard some people quarrelling near Yambem Mohori Memorial Youth Club at around 8 last night.
When they went there, Tongbram Chingshanglakpa (41) s/o Tiken of Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai and his 17-year-old son were found standing near Birendrajit, who was lying unconcious in a pool of blood.
Birendrajit, who received
grievous cut injury on his left chest, was rushed to RIMS Hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.
As the news of Birendrajit's demise spread at the locality, a large crowd gathered at the area and thrashed the father-son duo.
Later, they were rescued by a team of lmphal police station and rushed to RIMS Hospital.
The crowd later went to Bachaspati Leikai and dismantled the house of the father and son.
Although, a police team arrived at the scene and controlled the mob, a meeting was held at the community hall of Yambem Leikai late last night.
A joint meeting of four neighbouring localities of Uripok was again held today morning.
Apart from forming a JAC, the meeting resolved not to allow to the family of father-son duo to reside at these four localities.
The meeting also resolved to give the same punishment to the family or individual, who gives shelter to the family of the father-son duo.
It was also decided to press the Government to award befitting punishment to the father and son and form a joint body to check sale and abuse of drugs and alcohol.
After the meeting, a large number of people went to Bachaspati Leikai and totally dismantled the house of the father and son.
Meanwhile, Birendrajit's body was handed over to his family after post mortem examination.
