AR undertakes 'Swachh Bharat Mission'

As part of 'Swachh Bharat Mission', the 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) assisted the civil population in cleaning the villages of Malom, Ghari Makha Leikai and Patsoi IV on October 2 last.
According to a press statement of PRO IGAR (South), the Commanding Officer, 12 BIHAR inaugurated the programme by planting saplings at Ghari Makha Leikai villages, where around 300 locals and Army personnel worked in conjunction throughout the day to achieve the purpose.
During the programme, village heads of Malom, Ghari Makha Leikai, BDO and Chairman of Youth Club Patsoi IV villages reiterated the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission for the health and hygiene of the countrymen.
In another endeavour, the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised the "Zero Garbage Drive" at Shaibol Village and a lecture on National Integration & Non violence at Ril Ram Center Post on October 2 .
Attended by around 120 locals including women, children and youths of the villages, the programme was also participated by village authorities, Chiefs, Secretaries and Chairmen of the areas.
According to the release, the 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also organised screening of patriotic movie for local populace of Moltuk, Old Songyang, New Songyang and Khuntak villages on occasion of "Gandhi Jayanti" .
Meanwhile, a tableau exhibition depicting the rich cultural heritage of Manipur and traditional Dance fiesta was organised at HQ IGAR (South) on October 2 in connection with the occasion of Dussehra.
Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IGAR (S), Mrs Rashmi Chopra, President ARWWA, IGAR (S) graced the occasion, which was marked by cultural events showcasing the rich cultural heritage of various tribes and Martial Arts of Manipur.
Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra also made the audience to take pledge for joining the PM's "Clean India" drive, added the release.
