65th death anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot observed

Lamyanba Hijam Irabot Celebration Committee under the supervision of Hijam Irabot Memorial Charitable Trusthas observed the 65th death anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at Irabot Statue Complex located at Pishum Oinam Leikai, Nongthonbam Leirak.
The programme was graced by T Mangibabu, chairman, PDA, Prof K Sethajit, Imphal College, Ng Nongyai, member, Manipur HRC and H Dilipkumar, president, Hijam Irabot Memorial Trust as presidium members.
T Mangibabu said that Hijam Irabot was a leader of all the sections of society.
He sacrificed his happiness for the welfare of the people.
His contributions should be remembered by each and everyone of us and collectively continue his good work for the society.
The gathering also paid floral tribute to Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.
In the meantime, Irawat Celebration Committee, Manipur has also observed the 65th death anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irawot at Irawat Bhavan Complex, Imphal today.
A rich floral tribute was also paid to the portrait of Hijam Irawat by the State executive members of CPI, Manipur State Council.
Speaking at the programme, CPI, Manipur State Council secretary Moirang them Nara said people of Manipur should not only remember his contributions but also follow his footsteps.
The soil of Tangbo, Myanmar, a place where Hijam Irawat breath his last was brought and buried in Irawat Bhavan here, Moirangthem Nara said.
He further said that Hijam Irawat also succeeded in pacifying two revolutionary groups and ultimately united them.
On the other hand, Manipur Proletariat People's Democratic Union has organised a State level song competition as part of the 65th death anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot at GM Hall.
The programme was attended by MLA RK Anand Singh, MLA Dr I Ibohalbi Singh, Kha Manipur Kakching Music College Principal Sh Nabakumar Sharma, District College of Music, Art and Culture, Keinou Principal A Bhagarrot Singh, District College of Music, Art and Culture, Keinou Lecturer K Ibotombi Singh, social scientist S Indubhosan Meitei and Manipur Proletariat People's Democratic Union president Nameirakpam Meghachandra Meetei as presidium members and jury members.
